The London Chest Clinic was officially launched in April 2009, when Dr Brian O’Connor Consultant Physician of Respiratory Medicine and Allergy recognised an urgent and growing trend in patients proactively seeking to take charge of their health whether they are insured or self pay (link to payment plans). As a result searching they are searching the internet to find suitability qualified Respiratory Consultants.

As his part time private practice grew in patient numbers and demands for his clinical expertise developed, he made the decision to leave the NHS (2008) where is he was a Consultant and Senior Lecturer, and to focus on providing his clinical expertise on a full time. First he took the time to ensure that he had a built up a strong and committed network of professionals at all hospitals where he sees his patients and that they all work to his high standard of clinical care, as well as use state of the art technology to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Further he ensured that he was satisfied with all other hospital services (link to Quality & Standards) that any patient of his would need to have as comfortable a patient journey as possible.
